The room was a good size (rm 25), spotlessly clean and had a seaview (albeit a small window). The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was excellent and made to order.
A bit disappointed that there was no entertainment on the Saturday night, but as it's only the start of the season, maybe this is to be expected. The drinks were a bit on the expensive side, but it's a hotel and probably to be expected. The seating for breakfast was a bit cramped, although again we had a great seaview which kind of compensated.
The staff of this hotel were very helpful and always pleasant. We had a very enjoyable stay and would visit again.
Don't pay full rate. Dunoon itself is tired as is this hotel. Felt more like a care home. Very restricted meal plans . You have been warned!
Room was modern and comfortable.
Parking was limited with a coach parked behiind cars. Hotel is geared for coach parties, rather than independent travellers.
The staff were very helpful and curteous at all times. Breakfast was good and the choice was excellent. The room I stayed in was a sea view and was very comfortable and clean.
The only point I would make is that my brother has walking difficulties and there are stairs everywhere. When we arrived for breakfast he had to walk upstairs to the balcony area for breakfast as the other tables on the ground floor were seemingly preserved but no one used these tables while we were at breakfast. I did e-mail the hotel to request a ground floor room but they were full when we arrived. We were taken in the lift to the 1st floor and taken to our room which was accessed by stairs going down until we reached our room. If I had been travelling on my own it would have been perfect but my brother uses a walking stick and finds stairs quite difficult. The hotel on the whole was very nice and the view was excellent.
Lovely position with great sea views, short five min walk to town, the service of the rooms was very good. Considering the price we paid, it was very good.
Didn't like that the hotel was very much geared towards overnight coach trips who received preference. Didn't like that you are given your own table for breakfast and then it is continually changed to suit coach guests without you being informed, you are left in the breakfast room without a table and feeling embarrassed. Breakfast is not made to order, only scrambled or poached eggs are made to order.
The location situated on the promenade but also close to the town.
The staff are all friendly and helpful.
Seems to cater for by people on coach holidays.
I was very disappointed with my stay. 1. Bed Counterpane was soiled 2. Wallpaper peeling at radiator. 3. Dressing table unit badly stained 4. Breakfast was disgusting - I had scrambled eggs which were inedible and the following morning full English which looked as though it had been cooked the previous night and reheated. - I complained about this - 5. Spoke with another resident who said the hotel had gone downhill due to new ownership
A nice clean, friendly hotel situated on the water's edge and within easy walking distance to the shops and town.
The view is stunning but it was a very good day. The room was pathetic (No. 27). If they charged the full price I would sue them. The breakfast was not bad.
Very nice location with good views from the garden/dining room.
View from bedroom 28 not good. Breakfast could have been better for the money paid.
